PELISSIER Cecilia

The artist deploys a unique approach to watercolor by playing on the subtle alternation between white and black. Fascinated by the oppositions of these two colors, she exploits their expressive power to bring depth and texture to her creations. Her choice of medium is nourished by her professional career as a beautician, where these codified colors take on an aesthetic and symbolic dimension. Influenced by her past as an accountant, she transforms numbers into portraits of endangered animals, making each animal not only an artistic subject, but also a vector of emotion and awareness. Her commitment to the preservation of species is reflected in her careful choice of subjects, taken from the IUCN Red List. The artist wishes to raise public awareness of the seriousness of the ecological situation while offering a reflection on the fragile beauty of wildlife. She works with a technical rigor that emphasizes the importance of each detail, while pursuing an ambition of increasing visibility to carry her message.
