Collection: HASKINS Joanna

Jo Haskins was born in Cambridge and has lived between Mayenne and England. Educated at the City and Guilds of London Art School, she gained a BA (Hons) and MA in Painting from the University of the Arts, Plymouth. In 2022, she won the Brownston Gallery Fresh Talent Award, was shortlisted for the Platform Graduate Award and shortlisted for the Freelands Painting Prize.

Her artistic practice draws inspiration from her expeditions to the High Arctic, including her residency at the Spitsbergen Artists Center, where she explored the landscapes of Svalbard. Combining painting and printmaking, Haskins translates her emotions in the face of the power and fragility of nature. Her works evoke the vastness, calm, and transformations of a world in constant evolution, inviting the viewer to reflect on our connection to nature and its uncertain future.

Joanna is now a volunteer at the Majestic Gallery.
